The importance of faith in my life started to take hold when I was 13. During my final year in middle school, numerous events occurred that kick-started a profound desire to grow my understanding and commitment to building a strong spiritual foundation that would guide my life moving forward. A career project, faith statement, and other events resulted in my desire to take ownership of my relationship with God. They required me to reflect on my early childhood and begin to think about what I wanted moving forward. Taking the time to surmise about what I desired in life helped me realize that the tenants of my faith are what consistently led to my contentment. I also concluded that while I understood the tenants of my faith and found them fulfilling, I had no understanding of the practices or knowledge-base necessary to fulfill these tenants consistently. I needed to develop more worship, fellowship, and prayer methods that encouraged me to build God's kingdom daily if I was going to live what I believe to be fulfilling life. Seeing my need to dive deeper into faith-based practices, I used my time in high school and college to build healthy faith practices that help me focus on living intentionally. As all Christians do, I have more than a fair share of struggles maintaining my faith and implementing it in my everyday actions, and I still have a lot to learn, but I hope to share some of my stories and practices that can help others.
